Copaiba is a stimulant[citation needed] oleoresin obtained from the trunk of several pinnate-leaved South American leguminous trees (genus Copaifera). The thick, transparent exudate varies in color from light gold to dark brown, depending on the ratio of resin to essential oil. Copaiba is used in making varnishes and lacquers.

The balsam may be steam distilled to give copaiba oil, a colorless to light yellow liquid with the characteristic odor of the balsam and an aromatic, slightly bitter, pungent taste. The oil consists primarily of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons; its main component is β-caryophyllene.[1] The oil also contains significant amounts of α-bergamotene, α-copaene, and β-bisabolene.[2]

Copaiba is also a common name for several species of trees of the legume family native to Tropical Africa and North and South America.

Vetiver is a perennial grass of the Poaceae family, cultivated mainly for the fragrant essential oil distilled from its roots. The characteristics of the oil can vary significantly depending on where the grass is grown and the climate and soil conditions. The oil is amber brown and rather thick while the fragrance (which improves with aging)is described as deep, sweet, woody, smoky, earthy, amber, balsam. The oil distilled in Haiti has a more floral quality to it and is considered of higher quality than the oil from Java which has a smokier note. Indonesian vetiver is widely used for making derivatives such as Vetiverol and Vetiveryl Acetate We have installed facilities for reducing/removing the burnt note of Indonesian Vetiver oil and hence can supply both qualities of vetiver oil.

Ylang-ylang or Cananga odorata forma genuina is a tree native to Southeast Asia. In the 20th century, it was imported to the Indian Ocean. Today, ylang-ylang is grown on the Comoros Islands, Mayotte, and Madagascar, all having the tropical and subtropical climates the plant prefers. The tree’s golden-yellow flowers are prized for their sweet, precious perfume. At maturity, the base of the petals becomes tinged with red, which is an indicator of harvest-readiness. Picking takes place throughout the year and early in the morning, ending at 9 a.m., to preserve the aroma as much as possible, as it is reaches peak concentration at this time of the day. Ylang blooms all year, with an intensified flowering period between November and March. The very fragile flowers quickly lose their scent, so they are processed the day of harvest. Ylang-ylang complete essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowers. The distillation process is very long, requiring about ten hours, and, unlike the fractioned ylang-ylang essential oils, density does not come into play. The yield remains around 2%. Ylang-ylang complete essential oil has floral and jasmine notes, but its scent is less intoxicating than that of ylang extra or first essential oils.
